Suspense Accounts

Suspense accounts are temporary holding accounts in which items are carried
until they can be identified and their disposition to the proper account can be made. Such accounts may also be known as interoffice or clearing accounts. The balances of suspense accounts as of the report date should not automatically be reported as “Other assets” or “Other liabilities.” Rather, the items included in these accounts should be reviewed and material amounts should be reported in the appropriate accounts of the Reports of Condition and Income.
