Established in 2003 with funding from three major foundations, ITHAKA is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping the academic community derive maximum advantage from emerging information and networking technologies. ITHAKA serves scholars, researchers, and students by providing content, tools, and services needed to preserve the scholarly record and advance teaching and research in sustainable ways, for example, its e-journal archiving service, called Portico.
