Housekeeping is A benchmark used by insurers as an objective assessment of the quality of a risk generally. Housekeeping generically pertains to assessing the risks of general cleanliness, appearance, quality and maintenance of construction, upkeep of premises, maintenance of any machinery and waste removal, which is viewed by many underwriters as being linked to the quality of management and/or potential moral hazard and general risk management quality.
