What is Fruit ?

Fruit is (noun) 1. the part of a plant (such as apples, cherries, pears, etc.) which has seeds, is often eaten raw and is usually sweet You should eat five pieces of fruit every day. He has six fruit trees in his garden. 2. the fruits of your labours the results of your hard work (literary) He retired at sixty to enjoy the fruits of his labours. (verb) to produce fruit The raspberries have finished fruiting. Some pears fruit quite late in the season.
