What is dossier?
dossier meaning in Information Science terminology / glossary / dictionary is:A French loanword for a number of documents purposefully collected from a variety of sources to supply information about a topic, especially a person, group of people, or specific matter of concern to the compiler (click here to see an online example, courtesy of the BBC). Because of its use in intelligence and espionage, the word has acquired a slightly sinister connotation. A dossier may be housed in one or more file folders or boxes or in some other container, depending on the amount of assembled material. According to Richard Pearce-Moses (A Glossary of Archival and Records Terminology), the term is also used interchangeably with “file” in the sense of a case file.
