Cut out is (verb) 1. to remove a small piece of something such as paper by cutting it from a larger piece She cut an advertisement out of the newspaper. He used a pair of scissors to cut out the picture. 2. to stop doing or eating something She’s decided to cut out sweet things so as to lose weight. cut it out! stop doing that! 3. to be cut out for something to be ideally suited for something I don’t think he’s cut out for a job in the post office.
