What is Commute ?

Commute is (verb) 1. to travel to work from home each day He commutes from Oxford to his office in the centre of London. 2. to reduce a legal penalty The prison sentence was commuted to a fine. His death sentence was commuted to life imprisonment. 3. to exchange one type of payment for another His pension has been commuted to a lump sum payment.
