What is Clout ?

Clout is (noun) 1. a blow with the fist He received a clout on the head. 2. power or influence Because she owns so many shares, she wields a great deal of clout in company meetings. Newspaper editors have a lot of political clout.(verb) to give someone a blow with the hand She clouts the children when they make a noise.
