Definition(s): System established by the National Security Agency (NSA) as a means of ensuring that all reported incidents are evaluated so that actions can be taken to minimize any adverse impact on national security. The NCIRS is comprised of the organizations within the NSS community (NSA, heads of Department or Agency, material controlling authorities, and product resource managers) responsible for the reporting and evaluation of COMSEC incidents.
