What is Proof of Claim?
Proof of Claim meaning A statement under oath filed in a bankruptcy proceeding by a creditor in which the creditor sets forth the amount owed and sufficient detail to identify the basis for the claim. Note: Evidence of the debt (generally in a child support judgment or order, or administrative order) must be attached. The Proof of Claim must be filed with the court in order for payment under the bankruptcy to be received.
