What is flavoprotein?

flavoprotein meaning a protein that contains a nucleic acid derivative of riboflavin, either flavin adenine dinucleotide (FAD) or flavin mononucleotide (FMN). Flavoproteins are involved in a many biological processes, including bioluminescence, photosynthesis, DNA repair, and apoptosis (genetically programmed cell death)
