What is Female luteinizing hormone?

Female luteinizing hormone meaning A hormone produced by the anterior lobe of the pituitary gland that stimulates the secretion of progesterone by the corpus luteum in the ovaries. In females, it acts on the ovaries to make follicles release their eggs and to make hormones that gets the uterus ready for a fertilized egg to be implanted.
