What is Rhabdomyolysis?

Rhabdomyolysis meaning Breakdown or death of muscle tissue, often with release of muscle fiber contents into the bloodstream and sometimes leading to acute renal failure. Rhabdomyolysis may be caused by HIV infection, opportunistic infections, or some antiretroviral (ARV) drugs.
