What is Renal pelvis?

Renal pelvis meaning The renal pelvis and the calyces collect the urine. The microscopic structure of the renal pelvis includes a mucosa with an epithelial layer, basement membrane and a lamina propria. The lymphatics of the renal pelvis drain to retroperitoneal nodes along the abdominal aorta and vena cava (paracaval), primarily those near the origin of the renal arteries.
