Pseudoprogression

What is Pseudoprogression?

Pseudoprogression meaning Radiographic worsening of disease, seen on scans, which is caused by treatment rather than the disease itself. Pseudoprogression is sometimes thought to be tumor growth, but may actually be changes in tissue caused by the treatment. This is not uncommon in tumors treated with a combination of radiation and chemotherapy.
