Ferritin

What is Ferritin?

Ferritin meaning A protein that binds to iron and stores it for use by the body. Ferritin is found in cells in the liver, spleen, bone marrow, and other tissues. It is also useful in monitoring the cause of disease in neuroblastomas. For head and neck cancers, low levels suggest good prognosis.
