Epididymis

What is Epididymis?

Epididymis meaning A narrow, tightly-coiled tube that is attached to each of the testicles (the male sex glands that produce sperm). Sperm cells (male reproductive cells) move from the testicles into the epididymis, where they finish maturing and are stored. Each epididymis consists of a single coiled tube or duct encased in a fibrous covering. It is about 20 feet long with a very small diameter and lies along the top and side of the testis. The sperm cells are temporarily stored in the epididymis after leaving the testis.
