What is Immunofixation electrophoresis?

Immunofixation electrophoresis meaning An immunologic test of the serum or urine used to identify proteins. For myeloma patients, it enables the doctor to identify the M-protein type (IgG, IgA, kappa, or lambda). The most sensitive routine immunostaining technique, it identifies the exact heavy- and light-chain type of M-protein.
